Brian Rewinds the Gauge

After secretly using Stewie's time machine to impress dates, Brian notices its 'years traveled' counter will expose him and turns the gauge backward, melting down the machine and making time itself run in reverse.

A monitoring signal correctly records prohibited use, so the user tampers with the monitor instead of changing behavior. The attempt to hide evaluation evidence directly causes the system-wide failure.

The gauge and reverse-time failure are slapstick fantasy; the clean lesson is that monitors must be tamper-resistant and separated from the actor they evaluate.
