Exploring real AI risks through the lens of pop culture

Back to the Pilot

Brian warns his 1999 self about 9/11; preventing it leads to a second American Civil War and nuclear devastation, and repeated attempts to repair the timeline culminate in a crowd of mutually interfering Brian-and-Stewie pairs.

A benevolent, irreversible intervention is made under extreme causal uncertainty, and each patch changes the environment for the next one. The clone pile-up is a funny visual for uncoordinated agents repeatedly fixing the same system.

The causal chain is intentionally absurd and depends on time-travel rules, so it illustrates intervention risk rather than forecasting a realistic pathway.
