Daniel Must Choose a Truth

In the woods, Marge tells Daniel that when a missing element makes certainty impossible, he may have to decide which of two stories to believe. Daniel then returns to court with testimony that helps resolve the case.

Courts ultimately must decide cases, and the film intentionally leaves open whether Daniel retrieves, reconstructs, or invents his decisive memory.
