Exploring real AI risks through the lens of pop culture

The Hackers Record Kenny

Kenny installs what appears to be malware-removal software. It instead compromises his webcam, records private footage, exfiltrates it to anonymous attackers, and lets them coerce him through escalating threats.

The sequence is almost diagrammatic: malicious software gains access, collects sensitive data, sends it outside the trusted boundary, and converts the stolen information into leverage over the victim.

The attackers are humans and the episode does not require generative AI. It explains the security mechanism and downstream misuse rather than an autonomous AI threat.
