Copy the Tape

Rachel learns that the curse spares a viewer only if the tape is copied and shown to someone else. She then has Aidan make another copy without explaining what will happen to its next viewer.

The hazard gives each infected person a powerful local incentive to propagate it and externalize the cost. That is the same dangerous structure as malware or information hazards whose victims become distributors.

The curse guarantees supernatural enforcement; real malicious information spreads through technical and social incentives that can sometimes be interrupted.
